We are sometimes challenged by our mind, our emotions get the best of us sometimes, and we lose it at times. By training our mental stability we are able to have more control and awareness of how we think, behave, and feel.
Before we jump into it, we got to understand the difference between mental fitness and physical fitness.
Mental Fitness is simply maintaining a natural state of well-being within your mind and learning how to control and feel your body sensations. In order to think more clearly, control our behaviors well, and always feel fabulous... you got to train your brain!
Physical fitness is the body's ability to perform as expected. We all work out with goals of how we want our body to look and we go to the gym every day working towards those goals.
However, without training in mental fitness, it is nearly impossible to achieve our physical fitness goals. In fact, if you neglect your mental health, it can have a negative impact on your physical health. Here are some reasons why:
1. Mental stress can lead to poor sleep habits and obesity. Studies show that people who suffer from chronic stress tend to be more overweight and obese than those who don't experience chronic stress. So taking care of your mental health is key for keeping your weight under control!
"Do not give your past the power to define your future."
2. Mental stress can also cause heart disease. People with high levels of anxiety or depression are at an increased risk for developing heart disease. This is because anxiety and depression increase blood pressure and cholesterol levels, which in turn increases the risk of heart attack or stroke. so make sure to take care of your mental health by getting treatment if your experiencing any signs of distress!
"Let go of your mind and then be mindful, close your ears and listen." - Rumi
3. Mental stress can damage relationships. When we're stressed out, our emotions get in the way of our ability to communicate effectively with others. This leads to problems such as arguments or misunderstandings between couples. If your struggling with mental health issues, make sure to speak with your partner about how they're feeling so that things don't get too tense.
So overall, taking care of your mental health is crucial for both your physical well-being and happiness in life.
I hope now that you know the importance of mental fitness, you will work on it every minute and every hour of your days to come! Cheers to all your successes and a beautiful journey full of blessings and joy.
